On the 5th of March 2022, the Ataköy Athletics Arena in Istanbul hosted the 27th Balkan Indoor Championships. More information about the results and medal tables can be found through the links below.

The two Balkan Atheltics Interim co-Presidents Fatih Chintimar and Slobodan Brankovic greeted all participants in the Opening ceremony. Everyone shared a minute of silence in respect and memory of innocent victims that have fallen because of wars around the world, with a STOP WAR sign on the screens. We all hope this nightmare will end soon and will be avoided in the future.

Turkey won the greatest number of medals – a total of 18; 7 of them gold, 5 silver, and 6 bronze. Romania follows with 3 gold, 2 silver and 8 bronze medals, which makes 13 in total. Slovenia comes next with 6 medals: 3 gold, 2 silver, and one bronze.

We are very thankful for the great atmosphere and excellent organisation of our host – Turkish Atletics Federation.
